After 15 years of teaching AP Latin, I have come to appreciate the necessity of vocabulary memorization for success on the AP examination. Although various word frequency lists are out there, I wanted to come up with lists that were specific to the lines required by the AP syllabi. With the generous support of the Davis Foundation of Nashville, I was able to complete this project during the summers of 2002-2004. For each course I downloaded the text of the required books/ poems and then changed all words to their dictionary form. With the assistance of a concordance program, I then formed a complete alphabetical wordlist and the frequency lists. You may print the Vergil list via the web by clicking here at no charge. The Latin Literature list is available at no charge here. If you would like to purchase either list in booklet format (the Vergil list is pictured on this page), I have made them available at cost for $5.00.
